Help Aeron Fund a Workshop
0% complete
$17,528 raised of $20K AUD
45 donations
I’m raising funds to build a new, small, efficient woodworking workshop at Moora Moora Cooperative. This will be the home and heart of my business, Saks Makes. I am contributing $7,500 of my own funds toward the build, as this is far preferable to renting a space off the mountain.
The funds raised are a donation to support me to build and work in a dedicated workshop while living at Moora Moora. The workshop will be built properly and efficiently, insulated walls and ceiling, in-slab insulation, and a Rocket Mass Heater to minimise energy use and running costs.
The structure will be built on land owned by the Moora Moora Cooperative and will remain their property. I will have use of the workshop for as long as I am living here.
This workshop will allow me to move from borrowed and temporary spaces into a dedicated facility where I can work safely, efficiently and comfortably.
My family and I are currently in the Non-Member Residency phase, which means there is a possibility that we may not stay at Moora Moora long term. If that happens, the workshop will remain on site as a permanent asset of the cooperative. The funds raised will still have supported the purpose they were given for: enabling me to build and work in a functional workshop, while also leaving a lasting structure for the community.
All funds raised will go directly toward materials and construction.
If I do not reach 90% of the target, or the project cannot go ahead for any other reason, donations will be refunded (minus Gofundme's transaction fees).
Thank you for your support.
