Her world should be filled with sunshine, scraped knees, and her favorite toy dinosaurs. Instead, at just two years old, our little girl Advika is fighting a silent battle that is stealing her childhood.
She has the sweetest, most infectious giggle, but we hear it less and less. It’s being replaced by the quiet dread of hospital rooms and the sharp, recurring pain of needles. Advika has Beta Thalassemia Major, a cruel blood disorder that forces her to endure constant, exhausting transfusions just to stay alive. We watch, helpless, as the light in her eyes dims with every visit.
But there is a light in this darkness. A single procedure—a bone marrow transplant—can give our daughter everything back. It’s not just a cure; it’s the promise of a life where her biggest worry is which storybook to read, not when the next transfusion will be. It’s the chance for her to run in a field, to feel the sun on her face, and to simply be a little girl.
As parents, we would move mountains for her, but this is one we cannot climb alone. We are a modest, hardworking family in Kathmandu. Here, the cost of a life-saving transplant—a procedure that must be done in a specialized hospital, likely in India—is an unimaginable sum, far beyond what any average family could ever afford. We have exhausted every saving, every resource, and now, with aching hearts, we are turning to you, our global community, for help.
Your compassion can rewrite her story from one of struggle to one of survival. Please, help us save our daughter’s smile and give her back the childhood she so desperately deserves.
A Note from the Organizer & Family:
This campaign is organized by me, Ishwor Bhandari, a friend of the family living in Portland, Oregon. The parents are Dhurba Bhattarai and Pabitra Pandey, two of the most loving people I know. All funds raised will go directly to them to cover Advika’s medical bills, travel for treatment, and post-operative care.
For complete transparency and to hear their story directly, you can call call, message and ask for details.
Thank you for your kindness and for being a part of Advika's miracle.
