Hi everyone,
My name’s Ryan, and this is Dude — my best friend, travel buddy, and adventure dog. Together we’ve explored the U.S. from coast to coast: ocean swims, mountain hikes, goofy road-trip moments, and a lot of smiles shared along the way.
Now we’re down to the very last state: Hawaii.
Flying is the only realistic way for us to get to Hawaii. The problem is, commercial airlines don’t allow dogs of Dude’s size in the cabin, and I refuse to put him in the cargo hold. It’s just not safe, and I won’t put him through that.
Because of that, the only safe option is to fly with a smaller airline that can safely accommodate dogs like Dude in the cabin.
I’m covering everything else involved in this trip myself. The only thing I’m asking for help with is the airline ticket.
What your help makes possible
• Flight with a smaller airline (L.A. ⇄ Honolulu ⇄ L.A.): $12,000–$16,000
Goal: $15,000
That goal is set to safely get Dude to his 50th state and back — without putting him in danger.
But this trip isn’t just about finishing a map.
While we’re in Hawaii, Dude and I plan to work directly with local animal shelters and rescue organizations to help dogs who are still waiting for their forever homes. We’ll be taking adoptable dogs out of the shelter for special days filled with walks, attention, love, and real-life experiences — then showcasing their personalities through photos and videos to help increase their chances of being adopted.
If we’re fortunate enough to raise more than the flight costs, every additional dollar will go toward helping even more dogs — supporting the shelters we partner with, helping cover adoption fees when possible, and giving more dogs a much-needed break from the shelter environment and a chance to be seen.
I’m not one to ask for help, but this is something special. Very few dogs have ever stepped paw in all 50 states. Finishing this journey safely — while also giving back to dogs who need it most — means everything to us.
Every donation and every share brings us closer. Thank you for being part of this adventure.
