Thank you so much to everyone who donated! We were able to do chain saw work to clear and remove trees, brush clearing, mucking out a house, and prayer with victims. We would like to have another group go next week to work a POD handling supplies.
Our Advent CERT team is deploying to Fletcher, NC on Tuesday, 10/1/24, to assist in flood recovery and debris cleanup. Here is a little bit about our disaster team.
Advent CERT and Disaster Services
303 West Colonial Street
Woodbury, TN 37190
Dear Community Friend,
As a Christ-centered servant team, we set out to be the hands and feet of Jesus, doing the greatest good for the most people during times of crisis. We formed Advent CERT to overcome being powerless to serve at a time of immediate need to our neighbors during the Readyville, TN tornado of April 2023.
We are a team of 20 committed, FEMA-trained volunteers with a mission to respond promptly to disasters in Woodbury, TN, surrounding counties, and nearby states. In July, we conducted our first recovery expedition in Mayfield/Arlington, Kentucky. Within five days, six of our team members responded to the needs at 24 homes in need of debris removal, crawlspace and basement dewatering, and a helping hand.
To be fully prepared to mobilize swiftly for the next disaster, we need the following:
• Tires and maintenance on our CERT Disaster trailer $3,000
• Training Moulage $200
• Radios $200
• Power Tools and charging station $500
• Medical First Aid Supplies $500
• Mobile kitchen Cooking Equipment & Pantry Items $1,000
• Supplies for Infants and Young Children $200
• Total: $5,500
These needs come with financial costs, and your support can make a substantial difference. By partnering with Advent CERT and Disaster Services, you enable us to do the greatest good for the most people in their time of need.
Thank you for your assistance in helping these disaster victims. If you have any questions, our Program Director is:
