My name is Trista and my husband Adris recently was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. After receiving the diagnosis, my husband and I discussed whether or not to tell his employer. After careful consideration, we felt it was best to tell them because we knew he would have several appointments and worried his attendance would affect his job and wanted them to know why.
After giving his employer notice, they decided to let him go 3 days later. He contacted HR to try and figure out when he had insurance through, and that was gone 8 days later. My husband, being the strong man that he is, found another job, but his insurance for the new job doesn't kick in until November 1st.
We were told by the doctor that his cancer is in a bad spot and that they need to do chemo first in order to be able to safely remove it. The oncologist's office sent us a quote for one chemo treatment (he has to do 2 per month) of $10,000. Anything helps, even prayers. I strongly believe in the power of prayer and want to thank any and everyone that even took the time to read our story!! God Bless!!
