Help Adriana with Cancer Related Costs
Donation protected
Hi Everyone!
My name is Ellen and I got to know Adriana through her work in east bay schools as a wellness district social worker back in 2017. She has been such a bright light through my professional career and I am so lucky, as are many, to call her a friend. Adriana and I are also connected through cancer, as I am a breast cancer survivor who finished active treatment in 2023. The only thing I'm grateful for about my cancer experience is that I can be there for others who find themselves in similar situations, as I know firsthand what it's like to go through treatment. It is with this in mind that I have created a GoFundMe to help support Adriana with some of the financial aspects of her treatment.
With the decision that chemotherapy will give her the absolute best odds at disease free survival also means that she's going to be feeling less than herself for several months. Going through chemotherapy is truly killing yourself in order to live, and the side effects can be pretty debilitating at times. The best thing that Adriana can do is focus on herself, her health, and resting. So being able to pay for meals, doggy daycare, and make up for some lost income while she is in treatment is critical. Additionally, Adriana will have access to something called cold capping, which is a machine that has been shown to help preserve hair for cancer patients undergoing chemo. Patients on TC chemo typically lose all of their hair, and Adriana is hoping to preserve hers as much as possible. Cold-capping is great, but it's also not covered by insurance, so this GoFundMe is also being used to help cover that cost. Anything you can contribute would be appreciated so deeply by Adriana and her family.
