Help Adriana Vigil & Family Rebuild After House Fire
On January 14, tragedy struck when a fire severely damaged the home of Adriana Vigil and her family in Whittier, California. After the fire department initially extinguished the flames and left the property, the home tragically reignited, causing even more damage. In a matter of hours, the place they called home was left unsafe and unlivable. The roof is gone, nothing is salvageable.
Thankfully, everyone is physically safe — even the dogs—but the road ahead is overwhelming.
Adriana is a single mother who works full-time to provide a stable, loving life for her boys. Like many families in California, she carried insurance, but the coverage is limited and does not cover temporary housing and does not fully account for the true cost of rebuilding, required code upgrades, and the loss of personal belongings accumulated over a lifetime. The family is now facing significant out-of-pocket expenses while navigating displacement, cleanup, and an uncertain rebuilding timeline.
The boys are still in shock, all of their recent Christmas presents are gone, new clothes, shoes and toys.
We are raising funds to give them some support while they figure out their next steps. They will need financial support while they evaluates and create a plan.
Your donation will help them get back on their feet after this devastating blow.
Thank you very much for supporting Adriana, Santi and Valentino as they gather resources to take next steps and find a place to land.
Your generous donation will be used to support the family's needs - at the discretion of Adriana Vigil - related to the disruption and displacement of caused by the fire that are outside of the coverage that
her home insurance covers and the time it takes to get it all in order.
We expect the rebuilding process to take at least one year but likely more.
Any contribution — large or small — will make a meaningful difference and help provide stability during an incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is deeply appreciated.
Adriana has always been someone who shows up for others. Now, we’re hoping to show up for her. Her birthday is Jan 23rd so hopefully we can raise a good Amount to present to the family by then.
