Hello, I’m creating this page to raise funds for my best friend Adriana & her sweet fur baby, Nala. For those that know Adriana and Nala, you know how strong the bond is between the two of them, and that they have been inseparable for the last ten years, since Nala came into Adriana’s life as a rescue.

The unfortunate news that I hate to have to go into detail about is that Nala isn’t doing the best as of about three weeks ago. Nala got diagnosed with IMHA, which is an autoimmune disease. They now believe it to be PIMA, Precursor-Targeted Immune-Mediated Anemia. It’s a rare and life-threatening disease that affects the bone marrow's ability to produce red blood cells, causing her to be dangerously anemic. She’s undergone a massive number of tests and scans to get to this point, during which she’s needed three blood transfusions just to keep her going. During the beginning of this, they also found a small mass on her spleen. After undergoing tests, it is benign, but specialists believe having the spleen removed would be beneficial for her and help with the anemia.

Treatments for Nala have already incurred up to $7,000, including all the tests, scans, ER visits, medications, and blood transfusions. Nala’s road to recovery is long, and she’s looking at needing more blood transfusions until medications start working, as well as a splenectomy (spleen removal).

Adriana has never been the type of person to ask for help, so that’s why I’m doing this. Whether you know Nala or not, just know that she is one of the most loving, sweetest, goofiest, spunky girls you’ll ever meet, and she deserves a chance to try and get medical help and recover.
