Help Adriana Lopera Restore Her Vision

Adriana Lopera is my mother—a kind, joyful, and compassionate woman.

She has always been someone who helps others unconditionally. She is a loving grandmother and a hardworking woman who fought tirelessly to raise me and my siblings, teaching us responsibility and instilling strong values.

She is also a devoted daughter—loving and dedicated.

A few months ago, unfortunately, my grandmother suffered a fall that resulted in a fractured hip. My mother had to travel to another country to care for her during this difficult time.

This situation has been a challenging experience for our entire family. Thankfully, through faith and love, my mother’s siblings came together, relocating to be by her side and supporting my grandmother as a united family.

However, in the demanding process of caring for my grandmother, my mother fell ill. She experienced a sudden rise in blood pressure, which caused an internal effusion in her eye.

To preserve her vision, she urgently needs a procedure called “posterior vitrectomy,” also known as pars plana vitrectomy (PPV). Although this surgery is outpatient, it requires a recovery period of two to four weeks.

While my mother has received incredible support from her siblings, nephews, and the rest of my grandmother’s loving family, the financial strain has become overwhelming. The care my grandmother requires has taken a significant toll on their finances. My siblings and I have contributed as much as possible, but this situation has created an additional burden for an already exhausted family.

Your collaboration is vital to this effort. Any support you can offer will help cover the expenses of my mother’s surgery, medication, recovery, and rest. It will also allow her to purchase a plane ticket to return home to her country and reunite with her eagerly awaiting grandchildren.

Even the smallest contribution makes a meaningful difference in alleviating this emotional and physical burden on my mother.

Adriana Lopera es mi madre, una mujer buena, bondadosa y colaboradora con todo el mundo. Le gusta ayudar incondicionalmente, es una abuela cariñosa, una mujer emprendedora que trabajó duro para ayudar a sus hijos a progresar hasta que tuvimos la mayoría de edad, enseñándonos a ser responsables, inculcando valores de vida.

Es una buena hija, amorosa y dedicada.

Hace unos meses lamentablemente mi abuela tuvo una caída en la que se fracturó la cadera y mi madre tuvo que viajar a otro país para poder cuidarla,

lo que ha sido una experiencia dura para todos los hermanos de la familia, quienes afortunadamente y gracias a su fe y amor de hijos se unieron, trasladandose ellos también a estar junto a su madre, y juntos todos brindar apoyo a mi abuela.

En ese proceso duro de cuidar a mi abuela mi madre se enfermó, tuvo una súbita subida de tensión arterial y esto le provocó un derrame interno en el ojo.

Para poder conservar su visión debe realizarse con carácter de urgencia una intervención denominada "Vitrectomia posterior con inserción de silicon o gases", la cual es una cirugía que a pesar de ser ambulatoria supone además un reposo de entre 2 a 4 semanas.

A pesar de que mi madre ha contado con sus hermanos, sobrinos y la maravillosa familia de mi abuela, quienes la han apoyado incondicionalmente, la situación económica actual de todos ellos se ha vuelto precaria.

Los cuidados que amerita mi abuela han dado un golpe muy fuerte a las finanzas de mi madre y sus hijos, quienes dentro de nuestras posibilidades hemos tratado de apoyarla en toda esta situación, además de ser una carga más para la ya agotada familia.

Se hace vital para toda esta situación tu colaboración, la cual va a ayudar a cubrir los gastos de la operación, medicamentos, recuperación, reposo así como el ticket de avión para que mi madre pueda regresar a su país, y que pueda estar nuevamente con sus nietos, quienes la esperan con ansias.

Cualquier apoyo, por pequeño que sea, ayuda a hacer más llevadera esta situación, que ha llevado una carga no únicamente emocional sino física a mi Madre.
