It breaks my heart to say that my little cousin Edder has passed away this morning. Today was his 13th birthday and he spent it surrounded by everyone who loved and cared for him. He was the sweetest, kindest soul you could ever meet. It is true why they say, the worst things always seem to happen to the best people, and Edder truly was one of the best. He fought so hard after the fire for our family to say our final goodbyes. And we are thankful for the firefighters who risked their lives to rescue him out the house.
Edder loved running cross country and sonic. He had such a big heart — he loved his friends deeply and always brought smiles wherever he went. He was super nice and had no tolerance for mean people.
Thank you to everyone who has already donated or shared — your kindness means more than words can ever express. My cousin Nicole(his older sister) loved him with all her heart. They were incredibly close. Please keep her in your prayers and send her all the love and strength she needs to stay strong.
His final act of selflessness was saving 5 other lives. He will be remembered a hero. Even though we are not blood related he will always be part of me and my mom’s family and forever my little cousin ❤️❤️Please keep Edder in your thoughts always.
11-02-25 Early this morning around 2 AM in Normal, Illinois, my aunt Adriana and her 13-year-old son’s (edder) home caught on fire, completely destroying everything they owned. They lost all of their belongings — clothes, phones, furniture, and his pet.
Edder was found unconscious at the scene and he had to be rushed to the hospital. He’s currently in critical condition at Springfield Hospital. Adriana is completely heartbroken and will not be able to return to work right now as she is unable to walk. They have no home, no clothes, and no basic necessities left.
We are asking from the bottom of our hearts — if you can donate anything at all, it would mean the world. They are the kindsest people I know. Even a few dollars or a share can make a difference.
Please keep Adriana and her son in your prayers.
