Hello,
My name is Adrian Chen and I am currently working on this project called SATlap.
As a rising senior, I and many of my peers have experienced firsthand the same struggles from studying for the SAT: It is repetitive. The concepts are redundant and a prerequisite for scoring well in this standardized exam is to complete as many practice problems as possible. Unfortunately, big resources like Bluebook and Khan Academy regurgitate said problems in an extremely uninspiring manner making it hard for students to retain information efficiently, creating this tedious experience for its users.
SATlap serves as a solution to the problem. It is a fun and innovative platform that combines the fun and competitive nature of track and field with the rigor of SAT prep. Users “race” through events like the 100m, 200m, etc by answering SAT math or English questions as quickly and accurately as possible. Speed and proficiency are rewarded and every “race” contributes towards beating a personal best or other people's times.
By gamifying practice and adding a competitive edge, SATlap transforms SAT prep from a monotone activity into an engaging experience. It encourages students to enjoy the process of studying, promoting positive academic habits. The goal is to raise money for outreach purposes and to improve functionality. Feel free to contribute anything to the cause and thank you for hearing my story.
