Last night was a horror story for my beloved parents, Adrian and Dora Canales, as their night quickly became a nightmare. The barking echoes from their heroic family pet Bella, a great and beloved chihuahua that nearly all the Roma and Salineño community knows, as she barked through the raging smoke and flames to awaken her owners fast asleep. If it wasn’t for her, who knows if my parents would even have awakened. Thank the Lord all mighty for sending such an angel to watch over them. But as the flames got more intense and the smoke unbearable to breathe, my father decided to play the hero and hose down the flames. Fortunately, he stopped the flames and later both got the medical aid they needed, but my father is still expelling smoke phlegm from this disaster.
We are asking for help for all the damage caused from this fire, because at the moment it is overwhelming for them and us to carry all these unexpected expenses. I pray you have the heart and humility to lend a helping hand to your fellow community members who have been devoted in church, school, and their community throughout the years. Thank you and God bless you, always.
