Hi there, my name is Adri! I'm a Seattle-based tap dancer, teacher, and choreographer. My dancing journey began when I was 2 years old, and 25 years later, I feel like I am just now getting started. I have been teaching since I was fifteen years old, starting out at my mom's dance studio in AZ, and now I teach full-time around the greater Seattle area. My life has always involved dance, and teaching is where my passion lies. While I teach and love all styles, tap dancing has my heart. The intricate rhythms and its own language to be shared are so special. I believe being a dance teacher means you will always be a student first—training, learning, and growing within your craft.
I am someone who is constantly seeking out opportunities to learn and grow. This allows me to level up within the art form and directly give back to my students. I took a chance about a month ago and submitted an application to be considered for the Woodshed Experience. "This is a mentorship program designed for high-level tap dancers looking to not only improve their skills but to become more connected to the tap community. Dancers work directly with industry professionals to learn their techniques, philosophies, and their pathways as an artist." In my own words—a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to learn, train, and connect with industry professionals to level up within this art form that I love so much. In the last year, I have noticed a craving within myself for more. I want to learn more, practice more, connect more, dive deeper into the history, and absorb as much as possible—like a sponge.
I am turning to my community and seeking support to raise funds so I can attend this program. The money collected from this GoFundMe will cover the cost of the program, as well as transportation to and from. This experience takes place over a week and outside of WA, requiring air travel. Whether you can only share this GoFundMe or you can make a donation, I want to say thank you. Thank you for supporting my dream! I'm doing this for the little Adri who always dreamt of a life full of dance. I'm doing this for my students, to continue learning, so I can pass it along to the next generation of dancers.
