Hello, my name is Heather Haskett, and I’m writing to ask for your help for my partner, Ken Kell — affectionately known as Adrenalin Ken.
Ken is only 55 years old — a bold, passionate force of nature with a heart for adventure and a lifetime of inspiring others. He’s a mountain biker, snowboarder, skydiver, BASE jumper, and the proud founder of Adrenalin Sports, a staple in the Canadian action sports community.
Even after a devastating accident that left him partially disabled, Ken made a miraculous comeback — returning to snowboarding and the life he loved. His incredible recovery was captured in this powerful YouTube video:

The Diagnosis
In May 2025, Ken began to experience sudden confusion. I had to file a missing person report. Thankfully, the OPP found him in Brampton, Ontario, and he was taken to Brampton Civic Hospital.
On May 31, 2025, we received devastating news: Ken has Stage IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (Adenocarcinoma) that has metastasized to his brain. Which is mind blowing since he never smoked or did drugs a day in his life.
Treatment and Hope
Thanks to the exceptional oncology team at Brampton Civic, led by Dr. Kirstin Perdrizet, Ken was able to begin Tagrisso (Osimertinib), a targeted therapy that is helping to manage his cancer. This treatment was not covered by OHIP, but thanks to the support of the Trillium Foundation and AstraZeneca, Ken was able to begin treatment.
The next step is urgent: Ken needs chemotherapy to shrink the brain and lung tumors and keep fighting. But OHIP does not cover this life-saving treatment, and funding stopped on May 15, 2025.
The cost of this chemotherapy exceeds $100,000 annually — far beyond what we can afford.
Why We’re Asking for Help
Your support will help cover:
Chemotherapy and additional cancer treatments
Medications not covered by public health
Medical travel, transportation, and recovery needs
Basic living expenses while Ken focuses on healing
All funds will go directly to Ken’s medical care. If we surpass our goal, any excess will be donated to others in need or used to support Ken’s continued recovery.
He’s a Fighter. He’s a Friend. He Deserves a Chance.
Ken has spent his life building community through sport and lifting others up with courage, energy, and heart. Now he needs us to lift him.
Please consider donating, sharing this page, and helping us give Ken a chance to heal, live, and return to the nomadic, adventurous RV life we both love.
With all our gratitude,
Heather Haskett
