Help Adonis Recover: Cover Medical Costs for His Treatment

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to share my beloved cat Adonis's story and ask for your support during this challenging time. Adonis is a very lovable, cuddly, and playful cat who has been my best companion since I was 16 years old. I have cherished every moment with him, from letting him out on our patio to bird watch to feeding him his favorite treat - salmon! Unfortunately, he fell ill shortly after his 10th birthday in April. Adonis had been battling severe symptoms, including lethargy, digestive issues, significant weight loss, and simply has not been behaving or looking like himself.

He was referred to the emergency hospital by our local veterinarian for immediate medical intervention, after his bloodwork came back with some very concerning results. After discussing the treatment options with the doctor, they recommended chest x-rays, abdominal ultrasound scans, and a critical blood transfusion. The costs for these treatments have been substantial, and as a pet parent, I'm dedicated to ensuring he receives the best care possible.

We had to have Adonis stay overnight at the hospital on Friday, June 21st. During his stay, he received one unit of blood through a transfusion and improved initially, however after a blood check 8 hours later, his levels dropped again. If his labs do not improve when re-checked this evening, he will require an additional hospital stay for another blood transfusion.

I've set up this GoFundMe to help cover Adonis's medical expenses. Your contribution will go directly towards his ongoing treatment, veterinary care, and any additional support he may need on his road to recovery. The low end of the invoice we received (see below) sat at $4,522 but upon updates received from the doctor today, it is more than likely the cost will exceed the projected high end of $6,343, so I have set this GoFundMe to $8,000 to cover these treatment costs. The increased cost will cover these specialized tests: 1) a cardiologist consult to evaluate him for his left atrium enlargement to his heart, and 2) an Internal Medicine consult for a bone marrow test to see why his blood count is dropping so much.
