Help Adolfo's Family Rebuild After Hurricane John
Donation protected
My name is Adolfo, and I grew up in Acapulco before making the journey to the US on my own. Unfortunately, my mom and sister still live there, and they've been devastated by a second historical hurricane in less than a year, Hurricane John.
Last year, after Category 5 Hurricane Otis struck in October, I started a GoFundMe for my mom to help rebuild her house, which had suffered severe damage. Thanks to the support of generous donors, we were able to restore her home. But now, less than a year later, extreme flooding has hit the city again.
For the past six days, nonstop heavy rain has caused record-breaking water levels with landslides and overflowing rivers and lakes. The last time I spoke with my mom, the floodwaters were rising quickly, and now, communication has been completely lost.
While we've managed to cover the costs to insure her car, which was at risk of loss, I have no idea what state the house is in right now. My mom's job depends on managing homes that tourists rent, but those homes are likely underwater too. This means not only her house, but her entire livelihood may be in jeopardy.
The funds raised will help provide her and my sister with basic needs, support rebuilding efforts, and ensure they can afford daily living expenses once we reconnect. Anything you can give would mean the world to my family. If you're unable to donate, even sharing this fundraiser can make a huge difference. We deeply appreciate any support you can offer during this difficult time.
