I am a disabled woman living in Michigan, unable to make enough money to live. I have a lawyer working on getting my disability applications accepted and disability payments going, which will be enough for me to live on. It is unknown how long that will take, anywhere from a few months to a year or two, and I am currently running deeper and deeper into debt to pay bills. My condition is a severe vestibular disability(and chronic migraines) that prevents me from doing most things in life, such as being up and around, out of bed, sitting in a chair, etc., as it triggers my vertigo and migraines very easily. At most, I can spend a few hours a day not lying down, and it has become increasingly difficult to work. I should have been put on disability around 17 to 18 years ago when my condition worsened for the first time, but that did not happen. I was thrown into adulthood and independence without the ability to take care of myself. I have tried for the past ten years to work and survive by providing paralegal services at a law firm. At most, I can work around ten hours a week before I am unable to work any longer. I have not been able to find a position that will allow me to work from home and accommodate my condition so that I can work from bed. I have no other career path, and if I tried to get hired at another firm, I would not be hired because of my inability to work reliable schedules due to my condition. I'm hoping to raise funds so that I can make it through this waiting process for my disability applications to be approved, and my spouse can't earn enough on their own to support us both. Any funds given will be used for basic needs, bills, etc., while I am waiting for a response and action from my lawyer.
