Help Adi Get to Xaverian!

I am reaching out to support my former student, Adi Depina. Adi is a 15-year-old teenager who just finished his 9th-grade year at Madison Park High School. Adi has been eager to find a school that better aligns with his dreams of attending college. So when Adi came across Xaverian Brothers High School, he knew it would be a perfect match to set him up for a successful future. Adi worked tirelessly throughout the school year to improve his grades and complete the application process at Xaverian. Adi has since been accepted to Xaverian and will need financial support to aid with tuition, technology, and uniform costs. We are so blessed and grateful for the opportunity that Xaverian has given Adi. Please take a moment to read some words from Adi below, and please consider donating.

To whom it may concern,

My name is Adimilson Depina, but everyone calls me Adi. My goal is to attend Xaverian Brothers High School because it will give me an opportunity for better education and help me reach my full potential as a student-athlete. I am a leader and a hard worker, and I never give up no matter what life throws me. I like learning, and math is my favorite subject.

I am also a basketball player. To me, basketball is everything. If I am being honest, I don’t think I would be living in this world without it. Basketball is my escape. It is a happy place for me, no matter what happens in my life. I practice on my birthday, my toughest days, and even on days when it feels like all hope has been lost. If given the opportunity to attend Xaverian, I hope to play on the basketball team and learn from new coaches. I look up to the coaches in my life. They play a big brother role for me. I can trust them and talk with them about anything going on in my life.

 

As a young Cape Verdean man growing up in Fields Corner, Dorchester, I know the odds are against me. But that won’t stop me. I want more for myself and my future. I want to spend the rest of my high school years at Xaverian. Xaverian can help me achieve my goal of being a first-generation college student.
