I am fundraising for my friends, Aden and Amina. They are a hardworking young couple doing their best to provide a safe, loving home for their two young children—toddler daughter Asija and baby son Rejan. Tragically, their lives were turned upside down when their apartment complex was destroyed in a fire caused by a neighbor’s Christmas lights that short-circuited.

The fire spread quickly, leaving the family with nothing. While they are grateful to have escaped without physical injury, all of their belongings were lost. Furniture, beds, baby items, clothing, kitchen supplies, and everyday necessities were either burned or severely damaged by smoke and water. For safety and health reasons—especially with a toddler and an infant—none of the furniture can be reused.

Right now, Aden and Amina are facing the overwhelming challenge of starting over from scratch. In order to secure a stable place to live, they need help covering:

• A down payment/security deposit for a new apartment

• First and last month’s rent

• Basic furniture and household essentials to make the space livable for their children

This fundraiser is focused on helping the family regain stability as quickly as possible so Asija and Rejan can have a safe, comfortable home again. Every contribution—no matter the size—will go directly toward rebuilding their lives and easing the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time.

The funds will be transferred directly to their bank account.
