Help Me Attend the New York Times Summer Academy

Hi, my name is Adelyn Mobley, and I’m a high school senior with a passion for communication and media. I’m incredibly excited and grateful to share that I was accepted into the New York Times Summer Academy, a highly competitive program that selects students from around the world who are interested in journalism and communications. I have enrolled and will travel (alone!) to New York on June 21st, 2026. 

The New York Times Summer Academy is an intensive program where students learn directly from New York Times journalists and other media professionals. They provide hands-on workshops, writing projects, and discussions about current events and media ethics. Being accepted into this program is a huge honor. As someone who hopes to study and build a future in communications, this opportunity means so much to me. The skills I will gain—critical thinking, writing, interviewing, and media analysis—will help me grow as a communicator. Participating in the New York Times Summer Academy will also strengthen my college applications by showing my commitment to my academic and career goals.

Unfortunately, covering the cost of attending the program this summer may be a hardship for our family. The cost of tuition is $7695.  I’m reaching out for support to help cover tuition, and related travel expenses, so I can take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
