Help Adella Rebuild After Hurricane Beryl
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
On July 1, 2024, Hurricane Beryl unleashed its fury on Carriacou as a Category 4 storm, devastating lives and damaging or destroying 95% of homes and buildings with winds reaching 150 miles per hour. Among those profoundly affected is our beloved Adella Joseph, whose strength and kindness has been a beacon to us all for over 40 years.
Adella is family. Those of you who met her during your visits to Honey Hill know of her generous spirit and unwavering kindness.
Today, we are heartbroken to report that Adella's home sustained severe damage; her gardens are destroyed, and her animals lost. The cost to repair her home and restore her livelihood exceeds $30,000. Standing amidst the ruins through a tearful video chat, she showed us the remnants of her life, reduced to the bare walls of her home's lower level.
We are initiating this campaign with a catalytic gift of $10,000 and the goal of raising $20,000 more to help Adella rebuild not just her home but her life. Every contribution will directly support the reconstruction of her home and the replacement of what was lost. Everything from appliances to windows to the roof to flooring will be replaced with these funds.
Please join us in supporting Adella as she has supported us. Any amount you can contribute will make a significant difference in her recovery process.
Thank you for considering this heartfelt appeal. We are grateful for your support during this challenging time.
With deepest gratitude,
Martha, Tim, & Margaret Honey, Mike Bennett, & Jackie Matheson
