Adell Thamdy is a devoted son and farmer, working alongside his parents since he was just seven years old. As the third of five children, Adell’s life has never been easy, but his love for the farm and his family kept him close to home. While his siblings moved on, Adell chose to stay, supporting his parents and learning every aspect of farming—from growing vegetables to operating tractors. Even when he had the chance to leave for a job in Vegas, he stayed, determined to help his family and keep the farm running.
Adell now works as a roofer for J&R Roofing, starting his days early and heading home after work to help his parents with their crops. But when the Kona low storms hit, everything changed. The storms destroyed their home, ruined their crops, and left their tractor and trucks unusable. Most of their belongings floated away, and they were left with nothing but mud. Adell is doing his best to salvage what he can, but the challenges are overwhelming.
Right now, Adell and his family urgently need support to cover basic living costs as they try to rebuild their lives. Mahalo for your help—any and everything helps right now as they are struggling. Even sharing this story means so much. Thank you for standing with Adell and his family during this difficult time.
This GoFundMe was created by the volunteers from Help Maui Rise for the Storm Kōkua initiative and will directly benefit Adell Thamdy. His mom's bank information was added for them to withdraw directly.
