My name is Adela, and I’m reaching out during the hardest time of my life. I recently became homeless after my car broke down, and I can’t work right now because of a serious lung infection. I don’t qualify for disability, so I’m currently in the hospital trying to get help for my lungs. The doctors are concerned I may have a cyst or even a brain tumor growing in the back of my neck, and I’m waiting for a CT scan to find out more.

While I’m in the hospital, my two kids are staying with their father. I miss them so much, but I know I need to get healthy and back on my feet for them. Without a job or a running car, I have nowhere to go after I leave the hospital and no way to get food for myself. Every day is a struggle, but I’m holding onto hope that things will get better.

The funds from this fundraiser will help me find a safe place to stay, fix my car so I can take myself and my kids to appointments and school, cover my medical bills, and buy food since I no longer qualify for food stamps.
