Hi everyone! My name is Ana and I am a friend and co-worker of Adela.

 

Adela was 21 years old when she was first diagnosed with brain tumor back in 2019. Her battle was long and painful. She had to go through rounds of treatments and tests even amidst a pandemic. After 2 years of treatment, she was declared tumor free on April 2021.

 

However, her being “cancer-free” did not last long. She started having severe headaches or migraines again just after a few months. She was then diagnosed on November 2021 with a brain meningioma. She immediately had to go through rounds of chemotherapy to battle the brain tumor in hopes of it disappearing or shrinking. Unfortunately, her tumor did not shrink with the treatment and continues to affect her daily life. Currently, Adela’s best choice to battle cancer is to do surgery. She will be undergoing brain surgery this February.

 

For the years I have known Adela, I have known her to be kind, compassionate and hardworking. She does her best to provide for her 4 year old son no matter what her condition is. However, as she goes through this treatment, she will be unable to work. With that said, we are currently raising funds to cover treatment, medical bills, and any expenses she will have during her recovery period. Our hope is that Adela and her family will not have to worry about finances while they go through this and mainly focus on Adela’s well-being.
