Help Addison Smith Battle Severe Infection
UPDATE:
Addison is home! The doctors figured out what it was. He got a subdermal chemical burn from the Swannana River waters which took a few days to cause it's reaction. first causing swelling and then attaching itself to the edema cells causing a secondary infection in the skin. It's going to be a possible lengthy recovery do the extent of the damage to the skin. we are not sure at this time about when he can return to work but should know more when he sees his primary care next week. Thank you everyone who has donated to help us so far and thank you to anyone who is able to donate. Anything and everything is appreciated and we are grateful to have such an amazing support system!
Hello, I am the fiancé of Addison Smith. My family and I live in the heart of Asheville l, NC. During Hurricane Helene, Addison was helping retrieve water from the Swannanoa River for residents and happened to get a severe unknown bacterial infection in both feet. This has slowly and painfully progressed to his hands, wrists, and elbows. He has, since Saturday, been hospitalized and is waiting to see an Infectious Disease Doctor to see if they may have answers. Medical bills, along with others, are piling up as now neither of us can work due to child care not being available as well. Any and all help is appreciated .
