Addie’s story

She was given up before her life had even really begun. Now, we’re hoping she’ll have the chance to change someone else’s. ❤️

Meet Addie, a sweet German Shorthaired Pointer puppy who found herself in a shelter at just a few weeks old, waiting for someone to give her a second chance.

When we welcomed Addie into our family, we knew we wanted to give her a life filled with love, but we also began dreaming of something bigger.

As a mental health therapist, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful comfort, connection, and unconditional love can be. Our hope is to train Addie to become a therapy dog, so she can one day offer that same comfort to individuals navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, and life’s hardest moments.

Her journey hasn’t been without challenges, including an unexpected medical emergency, but she’s now home, happy, and thriving.

We’re raising funds to help cover her training, evaluations, veterinary and ongoing care and preparation for potential therapy work. With the right temperament and training, we hope Addie can turn her second chance into an opportunity to help others.

She was once the puppy waiting for someone to change her life. Maybe someday, she’ll be the reason someone’s day gets a little brighter. ❤️
