My granddaughter, Adelyn (“Addi”), is a dedicated 10‑year‑old competitive cheerleader with Nor Cal Elite in Sacramento, California. Cheer isn’t just an activity for her — it’s her passion. She proudly says, “I was born to cheer,” and anyone who knows her can see how true that is.
Addi is a crossover athlete, competing on two teams this season: Hero (Level 1) and Hercules (Level 2). She takes cheer very seriously and always gives 100%. Addi is a natural leader — self‑disciplined, focused, and determined to grow. In addition to team practices, she also attends private tumbling classes to strengthen her skills and stay competitive. These lessons are incredibly valuable for her development, but they also add to the overall cost of her season.
This year is a big one for Addi. She has earned the opportunity to travel to several major competitions, including Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Anaheim, CA; and the prestigious Summit Championship in Orlando, FL. These events are exciting, but they come with significant expenses: travel, hotels, food, transportation, competition fees, and tumbling training. Since Addi is only 10, her mother travels with her to every event — doubling the financial burden. Our family is small, and we don’t have a large extended network to help share the load. I live in Tennessee, far from my daughter and granddaughter in California, so I’m doing everything I can from here to support Addi’s dream.
