Hi everyone, my name is Brad, and I’m Addi’s stepdad. I’m reaching out because our family is going through something we never expected, and we could really use your support.

Last Monday, Addi suffered a devastating 15-foot fall at a trampoline park in London. We rushed her to Victoria Hospital, where initial X-rays were done and she was sent home in a boot with crutches. Unfortunately, the crutches didn’t work for her, and we had to get a knee scooter just to help her move around.

After follow-up appointments this week, we received heartbreaking news: Addi has fractures in her tibia, fibula, and growth plate. She now requires surgery, which is scheduled for Thursday in London.

We will be traveling back to London and staying there while she undergoes surgery and is admitted for at least 24 hours afterward for antibiotics. During the surgery, screws will be placed in her leg. After that, she will be completely non-weight-bearing and in a cast.

Her recovery will be long and challenging. We will need to return to London multiple times over the coming weeks for cast changes, stitch removal, and ongoing monitoring. Eventually, she will need a walking boot and rehabilitation just to learn how to walk properly again.

At home, Addi will require full care. She cannot move around on her own, get to the bathroom independently, or safely get in and out of the house. Amber is unable to lift her, so I will need to take time off work to care for her. I’ve already missed work due to appointments, and this will continue for the foreseeable future.

The emotional toll is already overwhelming, and now we’re facing a growing financial burden — travel, accommodations, food, gas & medical equipment not being covered, and lost income from time off work. I will be applying for EI, but it can take weeks to come through, and right now we don’t have that time.

We tried to find help through Ronald McDonald House, but they are currently full, and we have no option there.

I’m asking — truly asking — if you can help us get through this.If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it will make a real difference for our family. Right now, our focus needs to be on helping Addi heal, not worrying about how we’re going to afford to get her to her next appointment or where we’re going to stay.
