Update: my sister was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer so the need is even greater. Any and all financial support is appreciated. If you want to help with meals or hands-on support, reach out to me directly.
Hi, I'm Faith, fundraising for my sister Sarah and her family. She is a single mom of three young adults. Over the past year, two of her kids have been significantly disabled due to unexpected medical conditions. Now, much of their home is inaccessible to them. (Her third child is enlisted in the U.S. Navy.)
Her youngest has a degenerative eye condition that is progressing rapidly. She is losing her sight and relearning to navigate the world without it. In September, my sister's oldest was suddenly ill with an arachnoid cyst, spent a few weeks in the ICU and has been unable to use their legs since September. They now use a wheelchair to get around. We still don't know exactly what caused this or the long-term prognosis.
Sarah is the sole breadwinner in the family, but given these circumstances, she had to quit her job to care full time for her kids. In addition to being a caregiver and advocate, she's working tirelessly to transform their 100-year-old farmhouse into an accessible home for a wheelchair user and someone who is visually impaired.
This family needs your help getting through this very tough transition period. Please pitch in what you can to give them a nice holiday season and to make their home once again accessible for them all.
Anything you can do to help is appreciated! Thank you!
