My name is Adam (Miles) Summers , and I am reaching out during a challenging chapter in my life. After monitoring a blood disorder for the past year and a half, I was diagnosed a blood cancer known as MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndromes )(Pre Leukemia) on April 22, 2026.
This diagnosis means I will need a bone marrow transplant before this condition takes on an aggressive form called AML (which I have the markers to develop), the transplant has been scheduled for September 9th, 2026. Thankfully, a non-relative donor has been found, but the road ahead is daunting. I have already been through three rounds of chemotherapy, which has made it difficult for me to work as much as I used to at (A-M-S-Computers). To prepare for the transplant, I will have to endure five more days of even stronger chemotherapy.
I will be hospitalized at Moffitt Cancer Center as an inpatient for 30 days, and after that, I must live within 20 minutes of the hospital for an additional 90 days to ensure proper recovery. Currently, my family and I live 1.5 hours away, making this transition both logistically and financially overwhelming.
The funds raised will help cover medical bills, living expenses, and the rental of a home or hotel near the hospital . We're keeping the household running while adam goes through
BMT, and two of our children have their own complex medical needs that don't pause. Additionally, we will need to purchase personal protection products to safeguard my health, as my immune system will be extremely vulnerable. My wife will be my full-time caregiver, staying with me in the hospital and unable to work for the the next 5-6 months, which adds to our financial strain.
This is going to be the hardest challenge of my life, but I am ready to fight for Myself, My Wife, My 10 Children and My 7 Grandchildren.
During my journey, I will keep this page updated and have family members help report on my progress if I am unable to during some days.
Any support you can offer will help us get through this difficult time and give us hope for a healthier future. Your generosity will make a real difference for our family, and we are deeply grateful for your consideration.
