My name is Adam Weaver, and I have spent my entire life fighting serious congenital heart disease. I was born with five congenital heart defects, and despite years of treatment, my condition has now progressed to heart, liver, and kidney failure. I am currently on the heart transplant list and waiting for the day my doctors determine that my condition has declined enough to raise my transplant status and admit me full-time to the hospital.
My transplant team is at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, which requires frequent travel back and forth from home. While we are grateful to have family in the Houston area to stay with during appointments, the cost of gas and travel has added significant strain to an already difficult situation.
Because of my condition, I am unable to work and now rely solely on disability income. My wife works approximately 50 hours a week to support our family, but our household income has been drastically reduced. We have exhausted our savings, relied on credit cards, and used every available resource just to keep going.
We are raising four children, including a newborn who joined our family in September 2025. While he is an incredible blessing, the added expenses were not something we anticipated while facing a life-threatening medical crisis.
If I could work, I would. I even had to shut down my small drone business because the physical demands of traveling to job sites became too much. This is not a matter of laziness, it is a matter of survival.
Our hope is simple: to keep our family stable while we wait for a transplant and focus on healing. Any support, whether through a donation, sharing our story, or prayers, means more to us than we can express. Every contribution helps ease the burden and allows us to focus on what matters most: staying together as a family.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time. list for a heart transplant.
