Hi, I'm Adam.
For months, I've been trapped in my flat due to an adverse reaction to an antibiotic, which left me unable to walk and in severe, body-wide pain. Navigating the 60 steps between my flat and the ground floor has become impossible for me.
In May, a specialist in Glasgow diagnosed me with Fluoroquinolone Toxicity. I have an 80-90% chance of making a good recovery within 2-5 years. I am trying to remain optimistic, but it will likely be a difficult and long road ahead.
Being confined in my home has taken a serious toll on my mental health. The isolation and lack of freedom are incredibly challenging, and I feel cut off from the world. Before this happened, I was a keen walker, and enjoyed going on long walks with my partner. I miss being in nature and would love to be able to access the outdoors again, even if from a wheelchair.
I'm raising funds to purchase a stairclimber, a device that will help me safely navigate the 60 steps and finally leave my flat. With this equipment, I'll be able to go outside, access essential services, attend important appointments, and reconnect with my community.
Your support can make a world of difference in my life. By contributing to this fundraiser, you’ll help restore my independence and provide a much-needed boost to my mental and physical health. Any donation, big or small, will bring me closer to my goal and give me the freedom I desperately need.
Thank you for your generosity and for taking the time to read my story!
