Help Adam Moss Heal and Thrive

Story

Hola! My name is Heidi. My husband I are retired and currently live in La Paz on our sailboat in the fall/winter/spring and summer in the US. I'm active with several non-profit organizations in La Paz and have the pleasure of calling Adam Moss one of my "Kids." He works tirelessly for local children and makes our community a better place with his time, energy and passion. Adam experienced a quad accident last week and is in need of help. Adam fractured his collarbone in pieces, and the specialized surgery and care he needed immediately could only be performed at a handful of hospitals in town. We were blessed to find the right medical team and Adam received appropriate care for his condition just hours after the accident. Sadly, his post recovery was very rough and he was kept longer than anticipated before eventually being released later the next day. Despite the tough recovery, Adam’s surgery was a success and he has been recovering at home. He is managing his discomfort and pain very gracefully, especially given his previous disability on his right arm. He is currently limited with his movements, which will take about 6 weeks to recover. Many of you have reached out to help. This is greatly appreciated and Adam would like to thank everyone. Currently these are the areas that he and Naailah could use your help: FINANCIAL: As many of you know already, Adam was restarting his life including his finances when he moved to La Paz. His current financial position could not cover the immediate critical care. He was extremely blessed that a friend jumped in and covered the expenses of the surgery on a credit card, which ended being $147,000 mx/ $7,500 USD. He has additional medical appointments, medication and physical therapy. In addition to this and the fact that Adam won’t have access to both his hands fully for the next 6 weeks plus future medical expenses following the surgery, Adam will need some financial assistance to repay for the pre and post surgery care. COOKED FOOD: Home-cooked meals and groceries would be greatly appreciated. RIDES: Adam and Naailah don't have a car so help with getting him to medical appointments for the next 6 weeks is crucial. ⁠Adam can use his phone with his right hand - but only has partial mobility and has been replying to messages when he is not resting or sleeping. Side note: Adam is an active member of the community, including Club Cruceros, and is always happy to lend a hand or solve a problem. He is the co-founder of a Mexican non-profit organization and he was working on multiple projects collaborating with other local NGO's at the time of the accident.
