Hi, my name is Lisa Barre. I work with Adam Maggs, and he is a very good friend of mine. I’m helping raise money to support Adam and his family as he goes through treatment and recovery for esophageal cancer. Any support, prayers, or shares during this difficult time would mean so much. Thank you for helping us support Adam in his fight.

Help Adam Maggs Fight Esophageal Cancer

Our friend Adam Maggs has dedicated his life to serving others. Adam began his career with the U.S. Forest Service in 2005 as a wildland firefighter, spending years protecting communities, forests, and lives during some of the toughest fire seasons imaginable. Now, Adam is facing the hardest fight of his life — esophageal carcinoma cancer.

On January 3, 2026, Adam was diagnosed with esophageal carcinoma. Since then, he has already completed two months of intensive chemotherapy consisting of two full rounds with four infusions. Despite the physical and emotional toll, Adam has continued to face this challenge with incredible strength and determination.

On May 8, 2026, Adam will undergo a major surgery called an Ivor Lewis esophagectomy, which involves both abdominal and right chest incisions. This is a very serious procedure followed by a long and difficult recovery. Doctors expect Adam’s recovery to take approximately three months, followed by another two months of chemotherapy treatments.

During this time, Adam’s wife Jennifer will be by his side caring for him and helping manage appointments, hospital stays, and recovery needs. Jennifer plans to take time off to remain with Adam during his hospitalization, but unfortunately any time away from work is unpaid. Between lost income, ongoing doctor visits, travel, medical expenses, and everyday household bills, the financial strain is becoming overwhelming for their family.

We are asking for support to help ease some of that burden so Adam can focus fully on healing and recovery instead of financial stress.

Donations will help with:

* Medical and treatment-related expenses
* Travel to appointments and hospital visits
* Household bills and daily living expenses
* Lost wages during recovery and caregiving
* Ongoing chemotherapy and recovery needs

Anyone who knows Adam knows his dedication, strength, and willingness to help others without hesitation. Now it’s our turn to help him and Jennifer through this incredibly difficult chapter.

Every donation, share, and message of encouragement means more than words can express. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser would help tremendously.

Thank you for supporting Adam and Jennifer during this fight.
