On Friday we got the news that my brother Adam Pederson is in for the fight of his life. Adam has always been a fighter. Whether it was fighting for a loose ball in the pickup games of our driveway or going all out on the football field of the Corbett Cardinal Field, he has always been a brawler. As my brother we were constantly battling for the last piece of chicken or the last sliver of pie. And to be honest he won most of those food battles. LOL (Love you Bro)!
Adam called me last Friday to tell me that he has Stage 4 Rectal, Kidney and Lymph Node Cancer. I immediately knew that this cancer had chosen the wrong fight. Because what I know about Adam is that he is a Fighter. He even said during the call "I'm Going To Kick This Cancer's Ass!" He went on to tell me that he is not going to let this monster steal his life and is going to execute the full Battle Plan that his Doctors have laid out to defeat this terrible disease. Adam starts Chemo today and will undergo a full barage of cancer killing drugs and radiation. He will also be scheduled for surgeries to remove and destroy the cancer.
For those of you that know Adam you know he is the kind of guy that would bend over backwards to help you anytime day or night. He is that Big Ol' St. Bernard that is there to rescue you when you need help. He's the guy you want on your Team and the one who will have your back when you need him most.
During this fight Adam will endure many tough challenges that may result in him missing work. At 39 years of age Adam is a Young Fighter and will rely on that youth to triumph. He also will have alot of strength and support from his Wife Jenn, his Son Lukas and His Daughter Dixie. We have set a goal of $39,000 to help fund Adam's Epic Ass Kicking of Cancer. $1000 for every year he has been a Stuntbike Riding Daredevil, Deer Hunting, Salmon Fishing, Rollerblade Jumping, 3 Point Shooting, Awesome Brother, Loving Son, Wonderful Husband and Terrific Father.
The $39,000 will be used to help Adam and his family pay medical bills that may not be covered by his insurance and to help him and his family during times that he may be out of work.
