Hi, my name is Stephanie, and I’m writing this on behalf of someone I love deeply—my friend Adam.

Adam is a trans man living with serious mental health disabilities. He recently applied for Permanent Disability and was denied—not because he’s able to work, but because mental health conditions are still routinely dismissed by a system that fails the people who need it most.

Because of this denial, he’s now facing the very real possibility of losing his home.

Unless $13,000 is raised within the next 5 weeks, he could lose the place that has been his only source of stability and safety. This isn’t about luxuries—this is about keeping a roof over his head while he fights an appeal that takes far longer than anyone in crisis can afford.

I’ve watched how hard he works just to survive day-to-day. Managing appointments, medications, and basic life tasks already takes everything he has. The stress of potentially becoming homeless is overwhelming and dangerous, and it could undo years of progress.

The money raised will go directly toward preventing foreclosure and covering essential housing costs while his disability appeal is underway. He is doing everything he can—this is the gap the system has left behind.

As a trans man, navigating disability, healthcare, and housing already comes with added barriers. He shouldn’t have to lose his home because mental health isn’t treated as “real enough.”
