My name is Adam, and at 37, I made the decision to go back to school and pursue a new career as an X-ray tech. For the past six years, I've been on social security disability due to health issues, which meant giving up my blue-collar job and the lifestyle I once knew. It hasn't been easy, but I was determined to reinvent myself and build a better future. I was thrilled to be approved for a Pell Grant and accepted into a program that will help me achieve my goals.

Unfortunately, just as things were starting to look up, my only car broke down beyond repair. I managed to gather enough for a down payment on another vehicle, but now I'm struggling to cover the registration and title costs. Living on a fixed income makes it nearly impossible to handle these extra expenses, and despite sending out countless applications for part-time work, I haven't had any luck landing interviews.

Reliable transportation is essential for me. I live in a rural area, and my school is a 40-minute drive each way. Missing classes isn't an option, as attendance is critical to my success. With a dependable car, I can also expand my job search throughout the OKC metro area and hopefully find a position to help support myself while I study.
