Help Adam Find Safe Emergency Housing
Donation protected
Hey everyone. I am in a very critical situation and in urgent need of safe housing that will not trigger my severe allergies and asthma. Some friends of mine have encouraged me to start a GoFundMe to help raise funds for medical and living expenses. I have exhausted all other income options.
For the past ten years, I've been dealing with chronic health issues including asthma and severe allergies and sensitivities to mold and toxic chemicals. Recently, I've faced an even more challenging situation when my home became uninhabitable following multiple exposures to harsh chemicals from a neighbors home project. I am no longer able to be inside my house for more than a few minutes without suffering debilitating symptoms. It is indefinite how long these chemicals will be present in my home, but it has already been a month with no improvement or change.

Without safe housing, I have been forced to try staying in motels and even sleeping in my car, as I do not have any friends or family that are available to have me stay. Unfortunately these options are making me very sick as well. Due to my severe reactions and sensitivities to chemicals, I need to strictly avoid many commonly used products, chemicals, fragrances, and volatile organic compounds that are almost impossible to escape in the modern age. This is why finding a safe “home base” is a top priority for my recovery. When I am exposed to triggers, I suffer debilitating symptoms like severe asthma attacks and inability to breathe and sleep, nausea, involuntary muscle spasms, weakness, dizziness, and neurological disturbances. On top of this, the severity of my condition has made me unable work and earn a stable income. I have relied on doordash for income for years, but now I am too sick to even do that. I have maxed out credit cards trying to pay for housing at this point. My parents have done everything they can and are able to help me some with my living expenses, but cannot help with housing costs.
Over the years I have explored a variety of treatment options, many of which I am still taking now. Prior to this exposure, I was in the process of being medically evaluated for an immune condition called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, which would explain most if not all of my symptoms. Although there is no cure for MCAS, there are treatment options that may help me regain stability and quality of life. I have also been working with a naturopathic dr to treat my severe chemical sensitivities. We believe the cause is from toxic mold exposure and vitamin deficiencies. I am taking everything I can for that, but it is imperative that I am not exposed to indoor toxic mold and chemicals, and have a safe living space to control my symptoms. Right now, hotels are the closest I can get to that until I can find a better alternative.
I have been working towards a freelance audio engineering business since 2020 having graduated from Tri-C with a Recording Arts and Technology Degree in 2021. I have been a musician and songwriter for 15 years and record my own music. I always wanted to record bands, but my declining health after graduation prevented me from achieving this. Prior to these recent circumstances, I was in the process of building a portfolio to seek remote type audio work from my home including audio and podcast editing and mixing. Since I am unable to use my home, I do not have access to my equipment, nor am I well enough to do the work.

Although my parents have tried everything they could to help me, much of this has been outside of anyone's control. I am left with very few options at the moment and I don't have the financial resources to get through this without help. Without hotel stays, I will be forced to seek homeless shelters or sleep outside, which puts my conditions at even more risk. Your donation would be a HUGE help in my goal of finding the safe housing and treatment I so urgently need.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I am so grateful to anyone who has helped me so far and I hope to be able to return the favor someday!
