Adam was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive stomach cancer and has begun intensive chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment.
The road ahead will not be short. Adam’s treatment is expected to continue long-term, bringing ongoing medical challenges, hospital visits, procedures and uncertainty.
Adam is many things, a friend, a colleague, a son and a brother, but above all, he is a devoted father to his two incredible boys. They are his world, and every decision he makes is for them.
This fundraiser has been created by Josh, Adam’s long-time coach and friend. Together with the support of Adam’s family, friends and colleagues, to help support Adam and his boys during this difficult time.
For many years Adam has also been part of the community at CrossFit The Shack. Josh has been training Adam for more than 13 years, and over that time The Shack has become far more than just a place to work out, it has been a community, a support network and a big part of Adam’s life.
In Adam’s own words:
“When I haven’t been playing many sports The Shack filled the void, the community has been my life. I owe Josh a lot, he’s been the best mentor, the best mate, the best person. Being part of this group makes me feel supported, energised and accomplished, and it’s such a great way to start the day. A favourite part of my week is coffee after ‘Break the Mould’. Thanks for the support over the years Josh and everyone at The Shack.”
Adam has an incredible support network around him. His workplace, Joval Wines, along with its management and colleagues, have already shown remarkable care and compassion.
Cancer changes everything. It brings treatments, procedures, fatigue, uncertainty and significant medical and surgical costs.
This fundraiser has two goals:
- Help cover the ongoing costs of treatment and surgery, so financial stress does not become another burden for Adam and his family.
- Help Adam and his boys create meaningful moments and experiences together, strengthening their bond and bringing joy during an incredibly difficult time.
We can’t take away the diagnosis but we can stand beside him.
Every donation, message and share reminds Adam and his boys that they are not facing this fight alone.
