Please help Adam Diaz recover from life-threatening injuries!

On new years eve, I watched as Adam Diaz got hit by a car. He had just ordered sandwiches at the Redwood Keg and was crossing Highway 9 in Boulder Creek, California. I heard the horrific CRACK of the speeding car as it smashed into Adam's side, and I saw his feet fly up in the air as he tumbled over the top of the car and landed sliding under a truck. I thought for sure he'd been killed. But incredibly Adam survived.

BCFD's finest firefighters and paramedics soon arrived and packaged him up, and ordered a medivac helicopter to carry him to Valley Medical Center's Trauma Unit. Meanwhile the driver fled the scene.

Adam has a shattered pelvis, 5 broken ribs, a punctured and partially collapsed lung, a dislocated and broken shoulder, and shattered upper arm. Somehow, his skateboarding skills kicked in the moment he knew the car was going to hit him and he was able to tuck and brace, avoiding head and neck injuries.

Can you please pitch in to help Adam recover from his horrible injuries?

Adam will need expensive surgeries and some lengthy nursing and rehab to get back to work. Insurance will not cover all his costs and he simply cannot do this on his own. He is going to be unemployed for a while. He will need help staying afloat, paying for his care, and getting back on his feet and eventually back to work. We don't know how long it will take or even if he will recover to lead a pain-free life. We hope he will and we are working to make sure nothing stands in his way of a complete recovery.
