My name is Julie, and with some other people we are helping Adam Nofal raise the support he needs to continue his studies. I know Adam through my friend Dima, who is still in Gaza and also hopes for the chance to study abroad. Adam has worked incredibly hard to pursue his dream, and after many obstacles, he now has an opportunity to rebuild his future.

Here is Adam’s story in his own words:

My name is Adam Ahmad Nofal, and I am from Gaza, Palestine.

In 2022, I graduated high school with an average of 98.6%, determined to follow my dream of becoming a doctor. I began studying Medicine at Al-Azhar University in Gaza and successfully completed my first year. Unfortunately, my studies were interrupted when the war started and my university was destroyed, and I could not continue.

Despite all, I never gave up on my goal and tried to apply to different countries. Recently, I received an amazing opportunity: an offer to study Molecular and Cellular Biology with Biotechnology at the University of Glasgow. The university has kindly waived my tuition fees and is supporting me as much as possible.

My passion for this field began during a Molecular Biology course in Gaza. Even though I had to complete it online, it opened my eyes to how important research in this area is for advancing medicine and saving lives. I dream of gaining the knowledge and skills to contribute to scientific research and give something back to my community.

This chance means everything to me. With your help to cover living costs for the first few months, I can finally continue the studies in a field I started years ago and work toward becoming a doctor. I am deeply grateful for any support, no matter how small.
