Help Bell Build a Piano Tuning Business After 4 Years Sober

Many of you know me as Adam. I now go by Bell (short for Bellamy). I am proud to share that I am four years sober as of my birthday on March 13. This journey has taken a lot of strength, and I am now working hard to build a new life that reflects my passions and supports my well-being. I am reaching out for help as I take the next steps: starting my own piano tuning business, securing reliable transportation, and continuing my mental health journey with ketamine infusions.

Music has always been a source of comfort and inspiration for me. Being able to turn my passion for piano tuning into a reliable source of income would not only provide financial stability, but also give me a sense of purpose and pride. Having a car will allow me to reach clients and grow my business, while ongoing ketamine infusions are an important part of maintaining my mental health and staying strong in my recovery.

I've been tuning regularly for about three years, and I have done regular tunings at reputable music and dance venues around Seattle including the Pink Door, the Reverie Ballroom, and the Lowdown Ballroom. I'm also the in house tuner for the Seattle Piano Company , a local piano retailer in Georgetown. Here is a link to my website and a time lapse video of me tuning at the Pink Door:

I have an incredible therapist of about a year, but have struggled to find a psychiatrist that can provide medication for depression, anxiety and mood regulation. It's only during the last four years of sobriety that I've had to learn how to regulate my emotions as an adult, and while I've made tremendous progress, I still have a long way to go. Ketamine infusions played a big part in helping me quit drinking. I feel that ongoing ketamine infusions, in addition to reliable therapy with my therapist from Shelterwood Collective, would be immensely helpful in maintaining my sobriety, continuing to deal with hard emotions in a healthy way, and fighting the debilitating effects of major depressive disorder and general anxiety.

Some things I've been up to lately include playing every Sunday for the drop-in Lindy Hop class at the Reverie Ballroom, playing lounge piano at the Pink Door and playing with my quartet, Midnight Starlight, for social dances at the Lowdown Ballroom. I tuned the pianos at all three venues. here's a clip of a recent social dance at the Lowdown Ballroom:

here is an approximate breakdown of how the funds i'm hoping to raise will be used:

$5,000 - smart car or small fuel efficient vehicle for reaching piano tuning clients, as well as transporting music gear to and from paid gigs

$5,000 - additional business and life expenses to get on top of logistics and finances. this may include, paying for an LLC, advertising and promotion, insurance costs, paying off some debt to repair my credit score and purchasing a functional keyboard for paid gigs

$5,000 - annual membership to the
This includes one infusion per month and a discount for additional maintenance boosters.

Any support you can give would mean the world to me as I continue building a better future. Thank you for believing in me and being part of my journey. Your kindness and generosity will help me keep moving forward, one step at a time. Below is a clip of my band "Midnight Starlight" playing one of my favorite songs: Look for the Silver Lining
