Hi Everyone,

My name is Meitav Aaron. I am based in NYC and am raising survival funds for my friend Hatem Rida and his family who have been surviving genocide and displacement in Gaza for the last 3 years. These funds will help support their living expenses, especially Adam and Alma’s education fees and school supplies.

I’ve known Hatem since 2021, and have watched him and his wife fight to provide as much as they can for their two children, Adam and Alma, and their entire extended family under occupation and now through a years long genocide.

They were displaced from their home in Khan Yunis at the start of the genocide and have since been forced to live in tent encampments like the majority of Palestinians in Gaza today. While living in these encampments, Hatem found out that their home, which had been built by his family when they were first forced to flee to Gaza during the Nakba, was destroyed last year. They are now permanently displaced, with no means to work or financially support themselves through genocide and displacement.

I’ve previously partnered with Hatem to raise funds for him and his family to afford food and other basic necessities, and we were so grateful for the support that was shown. But as the media turns away from Palestine and more journalists are martyred, it has been harder to raise the funds they need. Adam and Alma have started school, and Hatem wants nothing more than for them to have what they need to continue their education and try to have a sense of normalcy amidst the ongoing genocide.

Please consider donating or sharing this campaign to help ensure that Adam and Alma can continue their education, and Hatem and his whole family have the means to continue to access any basic necessities available in Gaza. Adam and Alma, and every child in and out of Gaza, have the right to learn, the right to play, the right to be.

The funds will be deposited into a reserve account based in the US before being transferred to Hatem’s bank account.
