Help Ada Harris 5th Graders on a Mission to Nationals & Fire Safety!

We are incredibly proud to share that two students from Ada Harris Elementary School - Kaden & Caden - have earned a spot at the U.S. National Invention Convention in Michigan this June!

Their project focuses on an important mission: teaching families about fire safety in a fun, engaging, and educational way. Through creativity, innovation, and hard work, they developed an invention designed to help families stay safer and more prepared at home.

After spending months researching, designing, testing, and improving their invention, these students advanced through both local and state-level competitions and have now been invited to compete on the national stage.

This opportunity is an amazing achievement and a chance for these students to represent their school, community and California at a national level alongside some of the top young inventors in the country.

We need your help! While a portion of the competition registration fee is being sponsored by their school, families are responsible for travel expenses including:

Flights to Michigan

Hotel accommodations

Meals and transportation

As of now we are planning to have only one parent chaperone join. We'd love to raise enough to have both parents attend. The total expenses are around $4,000. All funds raised are being shared by both students.

The National Invention Convention takes place June 2-5 at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Michigan and we are working quickly to raise the funds needed to make this opportunity possible.

As children of San Diego firefighters, this opportunity is especially meaningful to them, and their invention reflects their passion for fire safety education and community service.

Any amount we raise above the travel expenses will be donated to the FirefighterAid and the San Diego Firefighter Relief Association.

The RTX Invention Convention U.S. Nationals is an annual, high-profile competition held at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, MI. It highlights students who have created original solutions to real-world problems, promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and critical-thinking skills. It will be held June 2-5, 2026.
