Hi, my names Lacey McFarlane I’m 21 and struggling with fertility , some people may already know this about me but for the past three years I have been trying to conceive with my ex partner. In march me and my ex partner went our separate ways. Since then I have to change my fertility from a couples referral to a single person referral. Back in January I was told that I have a low egg count and a gene in my body that thickens my blood explaining my miscarriages over the last three years. I was offered one round of ivf free on the NHS with my ex partner. However now I’m doing it alone I don’t qualify for one round of free IVF and have to fund it myself. That’s not going to be an easy journey for me. I feel it’s unfair as a single person to have one round for free taken away because you’re not in a relationship anymore. Being a mother is the one dream I have in life and I’m worried I won’t ever be able to be a mother of my own child. No 21 year old should be doubting if she’ll ever be able to have a family. Any help you be extremely grateful and the journey so far hasn’t been easy and it’s not about to get any easier.
