As many know, I have always wanted to work in the animal field in some way, shape, or form. For most of my life, I have volunteered with rescue, fostering, the community, etc., in different ways to help the animal world. For me, animals look up to us for guidance like a child looks up to their hero. Throughout history, we domesticated these animals, so it's our job as humans to help them. For years, I have worked in positions that paid the bills, not what I actually wanted to do in life.

Recently, life threw us a curveball, and I lost my job. It was a mistake made and a lesson learned. However, while looking for another job, I am trying to be a little selective rather than just settling for what will pay the bills like I always have. However, while searching for a job, hopefully in the animal field, I lack one criterion that holds me back, and that is a piece of paper stating I completed a program and am trained to assist in the care and well-being of animals. In order to get this certificate, I must complete a 6-month course. Simple enough; however, with me being out of work currently and battling with finances to get our vehicles fixed and overcome the dreaded year of 2023 when we lost 7 animals to old age or a health issue we could not cure, the cost for the program is more than I can budget for at the moment, and we do not currently have wiggle room on our credit cards.

The cost for the program is basically $2500. I am not usually one to ask for help, as I put myself through college before to get my bachelor's degree; however, right now, the funding options just aren't available. Therefore, after a lot of thought and consideration, I am reaching out to my friends and family for help to be able to sign up for, attend, and allow me to complete this course and get my Veterinary Technician certificate. By completing this, I will no longer have the one roadblock stopping me from landing a job in the field I have always wanted.
