Ace is my 6-month-old black American Shorthair, and he’s been a wild, loving companion since I brought him home at just one month old. Life with Ace has been full of energy and joy, and my siblings help care for him when I’m working graveyard shifts. On December 2nd, while I was at work, my brother tried to calm Ace down by taking him downstairs. Unfortunately, he slipped on the carpeted steps, and Ace jumped from his arms, tumbling down the last 7-8 steps. When Ace landed, he hurt his back right leg and started limping, with swelling quickly appearing.
We rushed him to the emergency vet and waited five long hours for x-rays and results. The news was heartbreaking: Ace had a major fracture in his foot and needs surgery to fix it. I’m only 20, and with Christmas coming up, I’m struggling to afford the care Ace desperately needs. He’s in so much pain, and it hurts to see him suffer. I’m hoping and praying for help from kind people who understand how much our pets mean to us. Anything you can give will help Ace get the treatment he needs and bring him back to his playful self. Thank you for reading our story and for any support you can offer.
