Hello, my name is April and I’m an animal lover and a caregiver for the elderly. This beautiful young dog we decided to name Ace came to us with his friend. It looks like he got his injuries from getting hit by a car on Sunday, 9-7. We held the dog in a dog run until animal control was called. They never came on Sunday. I called Monday morning, and they said the shelters are over capacity and that to ensure the dogs would survive, I could foster. I told them yes, but the injured one would need to be seen for his injuries and that I would foster when the three-day hold on the dog was up. During those three days, I learned the only thing they did for him was give pain meds and take x-rays. No other treatment was done.
Friday, September 12, was the last day of the hold, and I was able to go pick him up that morning. Since no rescues stepped in to get him, I took him to our local vet, who I talked to the previous days for an appointment. The second I was able to get him out of the shelter, we went over a plan on how to help him. As of now, we have surgery planned for Tuesday, September 16. Ace is said to be a year and a half and is a happy, outgoing dog. He was so excited to see me and has a fight to survive, so I promised to do what I can to help him. We’ve made it this far and are praying to have everyone come together to help this beautiful, amazing, happy, outgoing dog Ace get fixed and give him a chance at a happy, full life. Thank you so much for your support and kindness.
