Team Ace of Blades is Lizz, Laura, Kit and Beth. In December 2023, we are taking on the World's Toughest Row Atlantic challenge, rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
The challenge
We will row 2 hours on, 2 hours off, non-stop from the Canary Islands to Antigua. We'll battle whatever the elements throw at us and push our bodies to the limits. We can expect sleep deprivation, sea sickness and salt sores, but we'll do all we can to keep these at bay and continue to push forward.
We're doing all of this to raise money for three deserving charities: The Outward Bound Trust, Prostate Cymru and Macmillan Cancer Support. You can read more about them here: https://www.teamaceofblades.com/charities
Sponsorship
Everything we raise through GoFundMe will go towards the costs of undertaking this challenge, including our boat, food, training and a mind-boggling amount of equipment, most of which is required to keep us safe. Meeting these costs enables us to focus our efforts on fundraising for our charities.
How you can help
Soundwaves Club
Join our Soundwaves Club and sponsor us here! We want to curate a playlist of 3,000 songs - one for every mile of our crossing. For £3 per song you can help us fund our challenge and keep us entertained as we make our way across the Atlantic. Got a few songs in mind? Brilliant! You can pay for as many as you like and submit multiple tracks (£6 for two, £9 for three, etc.). Soundwaves Club members will get a shout-out on our website and social media with the details of your song (so pick wisely!). Other options
- £50 - Join Supper Club and cover one rower's food rations for a day. Supper Club members will get their name on the boat.
- £100 will help with our equipment costs, from storm jackets to our life raft.
- £250 will help towards the cost of the boat. As part of our 250 Club, you will also have your name added to the boat (see contact details below).
