Hi everyone! As you may know, Ace is a super active and outdoorsy dog. The other day, he was running in the fields at UC Santa Cruz and had an accident. I took him to the vet and spent my last $1,000 getting him seen and X-rayed. He has a ruptured CCL (think ACL) and will need surgery. I’ve been calling around for days and was quoted $6,000 for the surgery here in Santa Cruz, and UC Davis has an incredibly long waitlist and won’t be able to take him till June or July. I found an orthopedic vet in San Diego who will do the surgery for $3,500 total, but college is already expensive enough without having vet bills.
